easyJet launched new flights between Liverpool Airport and the Austrian city of Innsbruck yesterday. The new service will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursday and Sundays, with fares available from £24.99 one way including taxes.

As well as being the provincial capital of the Tyrol, Innsbruck is also known as the 'Capital of the Alps', offering a gateway to snow sports enthusiasts looking to access some of Austria's most popular ski resorts. The airline expects to carry 10,000 passengers on the route this winter.

Launching the new route, easyJet's David Osbourne said: 'We have seen a huge increase in flights to ski and summer destinations this year, reinforcing easyJet's position as the favourite airline for independent travellers, providing convenient low-cost flights from your local airport.'
