airBaltic increases its support to the Opera House and becomes the patron of the new staged production of La Traviata

Latvian airline airBaltic, which is the official airline of the Latvian National Opera (LNO), has extended the previous collaboration by supporting the new staging: opera La Traviata of Giuseppe Verdi.

President of airBaltic, Bertolt Flick: “The long-term support provided by our airline to the Opera House shows not only the good relations with the said art, – is it also the close collaboration with an internationally acknowledged partner whose productions attract the city visitors and admirers of the cultural life coming to Riga on airBaltic flights and wishing to gain the best impression and emotions here. Since airBaltic launches new flights and brings even more travellers to Latvia, it is important for us that they could enjoy the performances staged by the LNO.”

The Latvian National Opera (LNO) and Latvian airline airBaltic signed a co-operation agreement stipulating that airBaltic will be the official airline of the LNO also in future. During the coming year, the LNO will have an opportunity to use flights operated by airBaltic equalling to the amount of 10,000 lats. “It is an essential support by taking into account the increased international activities of the LNO in the recent years. airBaltic is an excellent collaboration partner for us, always wishing to support us and having the understanding and true interest about the ongoing events in the Opera House,” states Director of the LNO, Andrejs Žagars.

In the summer season of 2007, airBaltic plans new flights from Riga to Rome, Athens, Stavanger, Dubai, Gomel, Kuressarre, and Liepaja. In collaboration with tour operator Tez Tour, new flights will be launched to Heraklion (Crete), Monastir (Tunisia), Palma (Palma de Mallorca), Larnaca (Cyprus), Bodrum and Dalaman.
