The Latvian airline airBaltic plans to add direct flights to the Palanga-Riga route by introducing additional frequencies on Mondays and Fridays, and fly bigger aircraft on the Vilnius-Riga route, to offer an improved transit product for passengers travelling via Riga to and from Western Europe, CIS countries, Scandinavia, and Mediterranean region.

From April 1, airBaltic offers eight nonstop flights a week between Riga and the Lithuanian resort town of Palanga. Starting from June 1, the airline will increase the frequency to 10 flights a week, by introducing additional flights on Mondays and Fridays. Passengers fly aboard a Fokker 50 airplane, and the flight takes just 45 minutes. One-way ticket prices begin at LVL 25, including airport and transaction fees. The full schedule of airBaltic flights can be found online at www.airbaltic.com Our Palanga flights have already attracted huge interest from Western Europe, especially Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, London, Copenhagen, and the Mediterranean region, in particular Barcelona, Rome, Milan.

Currently airBaltic operates six daily flights on Vilnius-Riga route. Starting from April 15, an additional flight will be operated by bigger aircraft Boeing 737 instead of the current Fokker 50. At the same time, airBaltic will cancel flights from Vilnius to Stockholm (as of April 10), Munich (as of April 15), Milan (as of April 16). Passengers will have opportunities to fly these destinations via Riga with attractive fares and convenient connections. airBaltic is also currently considering new destinations from Riga to be announced after Easter.
